Sensitivity manifests itself in the scalp. But science begins with its protective barrier.
Itching after washing. A feeling of tightness. Redness or discomfort in response to factors that were previously tolerated without issue.
These are some of the signs that may accompany a sensitive scalp, a condition that can be influenced by factors such as pollution, changes in temperature, stress or certain haircare practices.
Sensitivity may be related to alterations in barrier function, which is responsible for limiting water loss and protecting the skin against external aggressors. For this reason, caring for a sensitive scalp involves much more than providing relief: hydrating it, strengthening its protective barrier and supporting its balance.
For those moments, our R&D laboratory presents:
GLACIAL WHITE CAVIAR Hydra-Pure CicaShot Scalp Concentrate
An intensive concentrate developed to care for sensitive or sensitised scalps, combining plant biotechnology, advanced hydration and antioxidant protection.
A formula designed to improve scalp comfort, strengthen barrier function and help reduce signs of sensitivity.
The biotechnological heart of the formula
Three technologies particularly represent this approach to scalp science: biotechnological nutrition, skin-barrier care and advanced hydration.
Green Caviar Biotech™
Nutrition elevated by biotechnology
A marine technology that combines three algae species —Caulerpa lentillifera, Porphyra yezoensis and Undaria pinnatifida— with Inca Inchi oil, rich in omega fatty acids.
Through molecular bioliquefaction and controlled fermentation, the algae are transformed to obtain a matrix rich in amino acids, peptides, minerals and antioxidant compounds.
An advanced source of nutrition and antioxidant care that contributes to scalp well-being.
Cica PDRN
Plant biotechnology for skin-barrier care
Inspired by Centella asiatica, known for its long tradition in skin care, Cica PDRN is a plant-derived biotechnological active ingredient that incorporates purified DNA fragments.
This technology has been developed to care for sensitised skin, with particular interest in maintaining the skin barrier and comfort.
A new generation of ingredients that places scalp well-being at the heart of hair care.
Encapsulated Swiss Glacial Water
Advanced hydration and comfort
Hydration is essential to preserve the integrity of the skin barrier and maintain scalp balance.
This technology incorporates Swiss Glacial Water into a phospholipid structure, designed to optimise its incorporation into cosmetic formulations.
An active ingredient that provides hydration and a feeling of freshness, especially when the scalp experiences dryness, tightness or lack of comfort.
Science is not only formulated. It is demonstrated.
28 days. A more comfortable scalp.
- UP TO −22% TRANSEPIDERMAL WATER LOSS (TEWL)*
- UP TO −37% IN THE SCALP SENSITIVITY INDICATOR*
- 95% POSITIVE RESPONSES REGARDING RELIEF FROM SCALP DISCOMFORT
The results were accompanied by a positive perception of scalp comfort*.
Cellular science
−41.6% MITOCHONDRIAL REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES
A new perspective on antioxidant protection
The scalp is exposed daily to environmental factors that can promote the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). When their production exceeds the cells’ antioxidant capacity, an imbalance known as oxidative stress is generated.
To investigate the antioxidant activity of CicaShot, an in vitro study was conducted in human fibroblasts exposed to tobacco smoke as an experimental model of environmental pollution.
Under these conditions, CicaShot reduced mitochondrial reactive oxygen species production by 41.57%, compared with exposed untreated cells**.
A result that demonstrates the formula’s antioxidant activity in this cellular model and reinforces its scientific approach to oxidative stress experimentally induced by a pollutant.
Because a comfortable scalp begins with a well-cared-for skin barrier.
*In vivo study conducted by an independent laboratory under dermatological supervision in 21 volunteers with sensitive scalps, after 28 days of regular product use. Maximum individual results.
**In vitro study conducted by an independent laboratory in human fibroblasts exposed to oxidative stress experimentally induced by tobacco smoke. Results obtained with the complete CicaShot formula.
